Product & Performance

Yes — ALL DECK lasts for many years because it is fade-resistant and stands up to UV exposure better than other materials like epoxy or urethane. With proper installation and maintenance, our fiberglass-reinforced systems carry a 10-year limited manufacturer's warranty.
In most cases, no. For best results, existing coatings should be removed and the substrate should be clean, dry, and sound before applying ALL DECK. Applying over existing coatings can compromise adhesion and void the warranty. Contact our technical team for guidance on your specific situation.
Yes. ALL DECK adheres excellently to concrete substrates. The surface must be clean, structurally sound, and free of oil, grease, or curing compounds. Use Bio Control Prime & Seal as the primer coat before applying the laminating resin and fiberglass mat.
Yes. ALL DECK is commonly applied over plywood decks. We recommend using our Hi-Flex Plus system for plywood substrates, as it provides additional flexibility to accommodate wood movement and seasonal expansion/contraction. Plywood must be exterior-grade and in good condition.
We strongly recommend using the fiberglass mat as part of the system. The fiberglass reinforcement is what gives ALL DECK its waterproofing integrity and tensile strength. Skipping it significantly reduces performance and will void the warranty.
The textured basecoat and aggregate provide the non-skid surface required for safety on walking surfaces. While it is technically possible to omit it on non-walking surfaces (e.g., decorative applications), we recommend including it for all pedestrian-traffic areas. Check local building codes for slip-resistance requirements.

Installation & Application

Yes, experienced DIYers can apply ALL DECK. The system requires careful surface preparation, proper mixing ratios, and attention to cure times. We provide detailed application guides and our technical team is available by phone to walk you through the process. For warranty coverage, we recommend professional installation.
Use our Coverage Calculator — enter your square footage and it will tell you exactly how many gallons of each component you need. You can also call us at 800-255-3325 and a technical specialist will help you size the job.
Cure times vary by temperature and humidity. At 70°F, each coat typically requires 4–6 hours before the next coat can be applied. Full cure for foot traffic is generally 24 hours; full chemical cure is 7 days. Avoid application in temperatures below 50°F or above 95°F, or when rain is expected within 24 hours.
Yes. ALL DECK systems are ICC-ES certified and meet the waterproofing requirements for Exterior Elevated Elements (EEE) under California SB 326 (condominiums) and SB 721 (apartments). Visit our Compliance page for full details on California deck inspection law requirements.
